What is Okhayo
Okhayo — meaning "home" in isiZulu — is a destination for those who seek meaning in design. We believe Southern African material culture is one of the world's great design traditions: precise, symbolic, and deeply human.
From the carved geometry of the Bantu headrest to the mathematical precision of Ndebele wall painting; from the medicinal knowledge of Nguni herbalists to the communal architecture of the rondavel — every object, every pattern, every movement carries philosophy.
